Why would a farm that specializes in fine fleeced, fine conformation white alpacas have a medium fawn alpaca? Just look at her...
Even from the pictures here and on our Alpacanation site you can see that Acapulco Gold is not your typical fawn girl. Her ears are perfect spears instead of the 'Llama ears' that you usually see on color alpacas. And look at her face---no thinness here, no protruding teeth. Finally, look at her fleece. From the deep crimp, fine AFD, her low CofV, and her extreme density, you can tell she is not your typical 'hairy' color alpaca.
She is just another great Glacial Storm offspring that happens to be medium fawn.
Breeding Strategy: A white alpaca holding 20 microns after four years is uncommon. A medium fawn that holds 20 microns after four years is rare indeed (another reason that many others won't quote current fleece stats). Goldie has the size, proportions, confirmation and fineness. That leaves density. Gino has award winning fleece, density in spades and throws color, making him the obvious choice.
